In partnership with families and the community, the Montana Early Learning Center will provide and support high quality, developmentally appropriate, comprehensive early childhood services which meet the social, emotional, physical and educational needs of all children 0-5 and their families.
In our program, children are navigators of their own experiences and learning. Teachers, as co-learners, and parents work together to provide the scaffolding, resources, love and support to allow your child to push the boundaries of his/hers intelligence in a loving and safe environment.
Alberton Early Learning Center delivers care and education in a play based, developmentally appropriate manner to encourage a strong foundation for lifelong learning. We value and support the role of the parent/guardian as partners in their educational development. Each classroom consists of children who vary in age, developmental level, strengths, and needs.
There are 8 principles that guide our work:
► WE BELIEVE THAT PARENTS ARE OUR PARTNERS IN CHILD CARE and EARLY EDUCATION.
► WE FOLLOW DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE PRACTICE.
► WE OFFER A CHILD-CENTERED PROGRAM.
► WE TEACH BY GUIDING, FACILITATING and EXTENDING THE THINKING and ACTIONS of CHILDREN.
► WE BELIEVE CHILDREN LEARN BY DOING.
► GUIDANCE and DISCIPLINE ARE GIVEN WITH LOVE and CONSISTENCY.
► WE ARE COMMITTED TO PROVIDING AN INCLUSIVE PROGRAM THAT IS RESPECTFUL.
► WE VALUE HONESTY, TRUST, LIFE-LONG LEARNING and INNOVATION.
The school is run in a historic residential building in the town of Alberton Montana. The children have access to gardens, orchards, local parks and yards of outdoor adventures. Learning outdoors is a key part of how children are engages and taught here at Alberton ELC. The outdoor classroom is just as important as the one inside.
