A great way to partner together is to communicate each and every day. Let's put together a consistent plan that meets your baby's personal needs and nutrition, natural rhythms and moods and any other needs you may want addressed. We're eager to share the events of your child's day and are always just a phone call away.
We strive to offer an environment that is intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally stimulating.
Intellectually, babies search for meaning and patterns in their surroundings. We facilitate brain development by providing sensory experiences to help babies learn about textures, sights, sounds and colors. We expose infants to music and movement activities and introduce early literacy through reading and storybook animation. We use sign language not only to help with language acquisition but to give babies a way to express themselves.
We meet the physical and emotional needs of each infant promptly and lovingly.
As babies come to know their caregivers as supportive and consistent, they are comfortable to explore and discover. Infants learn with all of their senses and their bodies in full motion! Soon, an infant's repertoire of random movements becomes increasingly intentional .They start to make thoughtful choice about how to gather information. Babies are Active Learners!

The toddler years are an exciting time of physical activity, language acquisition and curiosity. While the job of one and two year olds is to solidify their sense of independence, they want and need a great deal of nurturing and comfort. Our teachers offer a thoughtful balance of freedom and support.
Still egocentric and unable to fully understand the feelings of others, toddlers rely on adults to model social skills and lovingly guide their behavior. Patient repetition and redirection are the primary ways we channel a toddler's early efforts to assert their independence. We encourage toddlers to test their emerging skills and independence in a safe and happy setting. Knowing "what comes next" is important to a toddler! To that end, we provide a predictable daily routine to help toddlers feel a sense of security and control. We offer abundant learning materials and opportunities to help your child grow and thrive.
We start to categorize broad periods of time to allow for "discovery learning". During these times toddlers explore a wide variety of materials, toys and activities and begin to play in small groups.
Preschool 3 years- 4 years
Monday -Friday- Full time $50/day potty trained $53 not potty trained
Monday, Wed, Friday- Part time $50/day $53 not potty trained
There is a 3-day requirement for our preschool room due to the curriculum we implement and projects that happen in the classroom. The above schedule is an example of 3 days.

Energetic and inventive preschoolers build on the discoveries of their toddler years. They are increasingly able to make their own plans, engage in collaborative play and solve their own problems. Our teachers offer ample opportunities for children to set meaningful goals, learn important skills and concepts through play, and become socially and emotionally competent.
DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE PRACTICE
Activities we offer suit the age of the children in a particular group and are right for the developmental level of each individual child.
Within our developmentally appropriate program each day our teachers:
► Provide opportunities for art, sand or water play, science and math activities, literacy development, block play, pretend play and working with puzzle and fine motor toys
► Encourage children to think, plan, and make decisions
► Set the stage for creativity
► Promote language and literacy through a print-rich environment, reading stories, using rhymes, and encourage children to use writing materials
► Foster each child's social and emotional competence
► Build each child's confidence by continuing to promote self-help skills

Pre- Kindergarten 4 year-5 years
Our Pre-K program runs in 2 ways:
Half Days - The local public school, Alberton School, has a part-time Transitional Kindergarten program that runs in the morning from 8 to 12:00 pm, Mon - Thurs. If a child will attend, we offer half days in the afternoon for those children. We will pick up the children at the school and walk them back to AELC. This option includes Lunch and an afternoon snack. This option is available mon-thurs only and does not include Friday care. If Friday care is needed your child must be enrolled on Fridays and a full day charge of $50 a day.
The cost for this option is
$188/week, Monday through Thursday.
$238/week Monday through Friday
Full Days/ Full time - We only offer full-time positions for our full-day Pre-K program. These students attend AELC all day, 4 or 5 days a week. We require at least 4 days due to the curriculum we implement to prepare your child for Kindergarten. They must be present for lessons, themes, routines and projects in the pre-k room.
The cost for this option is
$200/week - 4 days
$250/week - 5 days

READY - SET - GO!
Getting children "ready for school" starts in our Infant Program and culminates in Pre-Kindergarten. Think of it as a layering process with one skill built on another and then another. 4 and 5 year old’s have become increasingly sophisticated thinkers. At this stage your child thrives on more complex stories, challenging science experiments, making predictions and increased creativity. We build on the "Plan-Do-Review" approach started in Preschool. The content of the Pre-K curriculum is more advanced with a stronger focus on language, communication, math and science skills. The delicate task of our teachers is to provide challenges unique to each child that stimulate problem solving and critical thinking. This is the case whether your 4 to 5 year old is in a mixed age group of three to six year olds or in a separate Pre-K classroom.
We'll continue with the HighScope® Content Areas as the framework for our program.
We also spend time on the everyday behaviors, manners and discipline that children need in school. We emphasize the importance of paying attention, listening carefully, promptness, working collaboratively with classmates, courtesy and kindness. If you like, we can help facilitate your child's transition to grade school by meeting with your child's future teacher. With your permission we can share portfolios and anecdotal information as they transition into kindergarten next year!
Before and After School Program 5 years- 8 years

$15 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
We are conveniently located less than 1 block away from Alberton Public school! As part of our before and after school program, teachers walk with children ages 5-8 to and from the learning center before and after school. This option is great for parents who work early, get off late or both! We do not transport children in a vehicle. Even in the winter months, yes we walk children to and from the school.
